Written by Brandon Boyd, Mike Einziger, Dirk Lance, Chris Kilmore, and José Pasillas, the song features shimmering guitar textures, subtle turntable effects, and lyrics that use outer-space imagery to describe emotional connection and transcendence. Co-produced with Scott Litt, it reached No. 2 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks and became one of the band’s signature love songs. The Phil Harder–directed video, with its surreal, cosmic visuals, reinforced the song’s dreamlike, otherworldly tone.
