Description

"Scarecrow Man" is a song by the Michale Graves-fronted Misfits, appearing on their second full-length album, Famous Monsters (1999). Musically, this version of the Misfits maintained the horror-punk aesthetic but incorporated a heavier, more polished sound that leaned into metal and hard rock influences, driven by Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein's distinctive guitar work. "Scarecrow Man" is a mid-tempo, driving track with a dark, melodic verse structure and a dramatic, soaring chorus. Lyrically, it is a straightforward horror narrative, personifying the classic agricultural boogeyman as a sinister, reanimated figure, perfectly fitting the album's theme of referencing classic horror and sci-fi movie tropes. While clearly separate from the raw punk of the Danzig era, it is a fan-favorite from the Graves-era Misfits and an excellent example of their interpretation of horror punk.
