About 3/4 time

3/4 time has three quarter-note beats per measure. The first beat is always strong, creating the distinctive 'ONE-two-three' waltz lilt. Found in European dance forms from the 17th century onwards, 3/4 pervades classical music, folk, and pop ballads. The ear quickly learns to anticipate the downbeat every three pulses.
