About 9/8 time
9/8 is compound triple meter: nine 8th notes in three groups of three. Primary accents on beats 1, 4, and 7. It's like 3/4 but each beat subdivides into three 8th notes rather than two. Rarer than 6/8 or 12/8, but creates an even more flowing, expansive character. Found in Irish slip jigs (which must be in 9/8) and some Baroque and Romantic era works.
